A Shot at nighttime (1964) was dependent upon a stage play that at first didn't involve the Clouseau character. During this film, Sellers began to produce the exaggerated French accent that later turned a trademark in the character. The film also introduces two with the series' frequent figures: his excellent, Commissioner Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), wh
